Takayama, Gifu Prefecture

A city that has become the largest city in Japan since 2005, Takayama, and its area is equivalent to the entire Tokyo metropolis. Since Tayakama used to be a capital of Hida-no-kuni province, it is often called a small Kyoto of Hida Region. The city of which the traditional merchants’ culture is still alive even today has various tourist attractions.

Miyagawa Asaichi

It Is composed of more than 60 stalls selling various fresh vegetables, fruits, and Japanese pickled vegetables on the 350-meter (1148 ft) long river side of Miyagawa River that floats in the center of the city.

Takayama Jinya

This used to be a local governor’s office during the Edo period (1603 – 1868.) There once were more than 60 buildings similar to Takayama Jinya in Japan, however it is the only one existing today.

Sightseeing Rickshaw

Rickshaw or Jinriki-sha is a traditional, small and light vehicle with two wheels that is pulled by one person on foot. Ride a rickshaw and enjoy the view of the old town with the energetic and tough rickshaw guy’s guidance! 

Takayama Showa Museum

Let’s experience and learn what Japan looked like in the 1950s-1960s of Showa Era (1926-1989)! Lose yourself among the delightful mishmash of endless objects, from movie posters to cars and everything between, lovingly presented in a series of themed rooms.

Shirakawa-go, Gifu Prefecture

​Village of Shirakawa-go was registered as an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1995 for being “a remarkable example of the view or accumulations of a certain form of buildings and architectural techniques that illustrate a certain period of time, which is highly important in the history of human beings.”
The center of the Gassho-zukuri communities is in the slightly northern side of the central area: Ogimachi District. You will learn the wisdom of traditional ways of living together with nature at the interactive facilities or historical museums of the local traditional cultures.

1. Please be advised that this tour is designed for foreign visitors and basically conducted by an English-speaking staff. For foreign visitors, English or Chinese tourist information handout will be provided.
2. The customers cannot request any specific seat, and generally the foreign visitors will be seated at the back of the bus for convenience. A group with more than 10 people may be asked to be assigned to the seats at the back. Additionally, if the customers apply with an odd number of people, they may be asked to be seated next to the other guest.
3. Depending on the weather conditions, the tour may be cancelled. In this case, we will inform you about it by email and on Facebook a day before your tour date.
4. The tour itinerary may need to be adjusted and the returning time may be delayed due to traffic or weather conditions.
5. Refunds will not be given to any itinerary changes such as shortening the duration (staying time), leaving the tour group for personal reasons.
